Pro Diffusion Rear Projection Screens
Rigid Rear Projection Screens for Professional Displays
Pro Display’s Pro Diffusion rear projection screens are manufactured from 6 mm optical acrylic, designed to deliver bright, evenly diffused projection images across the entire screen surface.
The specialised diffusion material captures and spreads projected light uniformly, helping to eliminate the hot spots often associated with traditional projection screens while maintaining excellent brightness and image clarity.
These rigid rear projection screens are ideal for retail displays, exhibitions, museums and digital signage installations, providing a durable projection surface where a permanent screen solution is required.

DIFFUSION SCREEN TECHNOLOGY
Rear projector technology involves placing the projector behind the screen, shooting towards the audience. This allows the screen to control the light path distributing bright, sharp images into a predefined viewing zone. Pro Display rear projection screen technology creates full colour images, and video brighter than conventional projection screens, even in brightly lit environments.
Our diffusion screen range supports standard or short throw projectors while our optical Digital Glass is designed for ultra-short throw projection.

Clearview Rear Projection Screens
Clearview is a transparent rear projection surface that creates the visual effect of images floating in mid-air. It provides a practical alternative to complex holographic setups by using a specialized diffusion material that maintains high transparency while displaying sharp, vibrant 4K or HD content. Because it functions without a critical angle of projection, the screen offers a wide viewing angle of 160°, ensuring that visuals remain clear and impactful for audiences positioned throughout a space.
This technology is available as either a rigid acrylic screen or a self-adhesive film that can be applied directly to existing glass or plexiglass surfaces. Its versatility makes it a frequent choice for high-profile stage productions, museum exhibits, and retail window displays where maintaining visibility through the screen is essential. By combining the screen with interactive touch foils, the display can also be transformed into a functional multi-touch interface, offering a contemporary way to engage with digital content in commercial and public environments.
Whether or not rear projection is better than front projection can only be defined by the individual application. There are many factors to consider including the space available and the location of the screen itself.
For example, if your application needs to accommodate movement in front of the screen, rear projection is the better option whereas if you’re limited on space, front projection would be better suited.
Projection screens are rigid, often made from acrylic or glass, whereas projection films are made of a flexible material and are designed to be applied to glass or Plexiglas surfaces.
Whilst projection films are most commonly used in window display applications, projection screens are the most popular choice for framed, suspended and mounted applications.
In order to use any projector to its maximum potential, the screen has to be of optimal quality. Whilst there are many projection materials to choose from, their effectiveness will differ depending on the environment.
For instance, our Pro Diffusion and Ultra Black screens are darker and solid in colour making them ideal for brighter environments, while our Clearview screen is transparent which is more suited for environments with controlled lighting.
Pro Display can manufacture bespoke rear projection screens in sizes up to 3000mm x 2000mm. These hand-cast diffusion screens are manufactured to your specific requirements and can accommodate everything from custom shapes to frames and fixings.
Our specialist digital glass screens can be made in sizes up to 8000 mm x 3000mm and support UST projection.
Today, practically every projector available on the market supports rear projection.
Reformatting your projector to operate as a rear projector can all be done in the settings. This is often as simple as just choosing the rear projection option within the display settings. Changing this flips the image so that when projected onto a screen from behind the image is displayed as it should be and not reversed from the other side of the screen.
SPECIALIST REAR PROJECTION
Our other rear projection products include Clearview which provides a holographic display effect, Digital Glass for ultra-short throw rear projection and SunScreen for sun readable rear projection applications. Custom Electric Rear Projector Screens can also be manufactured on request which retract into the housing when not in use.
ACCESSORIES
Pro Display offers a complete range of fixing systems, including wire cable suspension systems, aluminium frames and portable screen stands.
