    ALTERNATIVE TRANSPARENT TECHNOLOGY

We offer a wide selection of alternative transparent screen technologies including Transparent LED Displays, Transparent LCD Screens – which are ideal for applications that require a small transparent display with sizes as small as 9.7”. We also offer other LED solutions including modular indoor and outdoor LED screens with pixel pitches starting from 1.5mm up to 20mm.

What is a Transparent Holographic LED Screen?

A Transparent Holographic LED Screen is an innovative display technology that combines high-brightness LED components with a transparent substrate. It allows viewers to see dynamic, high-definition digital content while simultaneously seeing clearly through the screen to the background behind it. When displaying 3D content, it can create a stunning ‘naked-eye’ holographic effect, where images appear to float in mid-air without the need for special glasses.

How does the screen achieve transparency?

The screen uses unique, micro-LED light sources (pixels) embedded onto a highly transparent, often thin, film or mesh-like material. The spacing between the LED pixels (known as the pixel pitch) is carefully designed to be large enough to allow light and visibility to pass through, creating the high-transparency effect while still maintaining a clear display image.

What is the difference between a Transparent LED Screen and a Transparent Holographic LED Screen?

While the terms are often used interchangeably, the main difference lies in the visual effect:

    • Transparent LED Screen: Focuses primarily on high transparency (often 70-90%) and displaying standard 2D content on a glass-like surface, ideal for storefront windows or curtain walls.

    • Transparent Holographic LED Screen: Incorporates a design and control technology that is optimised to display special 3D content, which, when viewed from a certain distance, creates an immersive, realistic, three-dimensional effect that appears to float in space.

What are the main applications for these screens?

Their unique blend of transparency and dynamic visuals makes them ideal for:

    • Retail and Storefronts: Displaying product advertisements and promotions on shop windows without blocking the view of the products inside.

    • Architectural/Building Facades: Turning glass curtain walls into large-scale, dynamic digital signage.

    • Exhibitions and Museums: Creating immersive, interactive displays that blend digital information with physical exhibits.

    • Stage and Events: Providing unique, transparent backdrops for concerts, fashion shows, and live performances.

What is 'Pixel Pitch' and why is it important for a transparent screen?

Pixel pitch is the distance, measured in millimetres (mm), from the centre of one LED cluster (pixel) to the centre of the next.

    • A smaller pixel pitch means the LEDs are closer together, resulting in higher resolution and a better display quality from a shorter viewing distance, but typically a slightly lower transparency.

    • A larger pixel pitch means the LEDs are further apart, resulting in higher transparency but requiring a longer viewing distance for a seamless image.

Are these screens suitable for outdoor use?

The Ingress Protection (IP) rating is IP45 indicating that it is protected against water jets from any angle (projected through a 6.3mm nozzle). The brightness level is 2500 – 5000 cd/m². Screens rated at 2,500 cd/m² and above are specifically built for outdoor use and can be seen even in direct sunlight.

Can the screen be customised in size and shape?

Yes. Our transparent LED screens are modular, meaning they are built from smaller panels which can be seamlessly joined together to create large-scale displays. Custom shapes, such as curves or specific angles, are possible.

How are the transparent screens installed?

Installation methods vary by product type:

    • Film/Sticker Types: Applied directly to a glass surface using a special adhesive.

    • Module/Cabinet Types: Fixed to a supporting structure or frame, often attached to the perimeter of the glass or window frame. Installation is generally quicker and less intrusive than traditional large LED panels, as they are lightweight and thin.

What is the typical lifespan of the screen?

The lifespan of the LEDs is usually rated for a long period, often up to 100,000 hours of operation. Proper care, usage within recommended environmental conditions, and regular maintenance will help ensure maximum longevity.

    Is maintenance difficult?

Maintenance is generally straightforward due to the modular design. If an individual LED or module fails, it can often be replaced on-site without having to dismantle the entire screen, significantly reducing repair time and cost.

Do they block light or view when turned off?

No. When the screen is displaying dark content or is switched off, the high transparency allows natural light to pass through and the view to the outside/inside to remain largely unobstructed, maintaining a bright and open environment.
