What is the Difference Between Clearvision and Clearview Projection Screens?

Both Clearvision and Clearview are transparent projection technologies designed to create holographic-style visual effects, but they differ in how the projection image is produced. Clearvision is a front projection film, meaning the projector is positioned in front of the screen and projects directly onto the transparent surface. This makes Clearvision particularly suited to short throw and ultra-short throw projection, allowing compact installations where the projector can be mounted close to the screen.

Clearview, by comparison, is a rear projection technology where the projector is positioned behind the screen and projects through the transparent surface. Rear projection installations typically require more space behind the display but keep the projection equipment hidden from the viewer.
Clearvision is therefore commonly used for stage effects, exhibitions, museums and live events, while Clearview is often chosen for display windows, retail installations and environments where rear projection space is available.

    HOLOGRAPHIC PROJECTION

Pro Display’s Clearvision transparent front projection film enables striking holographic-style visual displays by allowing bright projected imagery to appear on a transparent surface. Designed specifically for front projection applications, the film delivers sharp definition while maintaining visibility through the screen, creating a compelling floating image effect even in well-lit environments.

Clearvision screens are also dual image, meaning the projected content is visible from both sides of the screen simultaneously. This makes them particularly effective as a centrepiece display within museums, exhibitions and stage installations. Ultra-short throw projectors can be discreetly positioned above or below the screen, allowing the visual effect to be experienced from multiple viewing angles.

    Clearview Rear Projection Screens

For rear projection applications, our Clearview Rear projection film also produces a hologram screen effect. These screens use up minimal floor space, with the setup allowing for free movement in front of the screen without affecting the image. These displays also provide an effective 4K holographic display for a fraction of the cost attached to the more cumbersome alternative holographic technologies on the market.

There have been numerous high-profile uses of our Rear Projection alternative, Clearview, many of which being on-stage applications for events with millions of viewers, as seen with the 83rd Academy Awards or Halsey’s performance at the 2018 MTV EMA’s.

CAN THE CLEARVISION SCREEN ONLY BE VIEWED FROM THE FRONT?

The Clearvision transparent front projection screen supports (Dual Image) front or rear projection and can be viewed from both sides making it a great centrepiece for any museum or visitor attraction. Our rear projection only alternative Clearview, can only be truly appreciated from the front of the screen.

IS THERE A TRANSPARENT REAR PROJECTION ALTERNATIVE TO CLEARVISION?

We offer a transparent rear projection only alternative to our Clearvision front projection technology: Clearview holographic effect film.
